RESIDENTS of a Hampshire care home celebrated a national day with a visit from birds of prey.

Colten Care home in Abbotts Barton, near Winchester, opened its doors to eight birds of prey to celebrate National Care Home Open Day.

The birds, including owls, falcons and hawks, were members of the Falconhigh display team based at Brambridge Park Garden Centre.

Janet Orchard, activities organiser at the Worthy Road home, said: “The residents and their visitors all adore the birds. It's a real hands-on experience for everyone as well as being educational.

“It was the perfect activity for National Care Home Open Day as it was spectacular but also very interactive so everyone could join in and enjoy the day together."
