A SCHOOL’S bid to expand has hit the buffers after planners deferred their decision on whether to grant permission.
Tanners Brook Primary School in Elmes Drive, Southampton, wanted to move a community centre, which also houses a pre-school, from the back of the school to a new single storey building it wants to be allowed to construct at the front. The school is unhappy at the public walking in the school grounds to get to the present community centre site – which they want to use to expand the school.
But residents say they have not been consulted properly and fear the building users would be too loud. Planners deferred their decision to a later date to allow for consultation and for a report into potential noise.
