A SOUTHAMPTON judge who spared a teenager an immediate jail sentence told him: “You are an extremely lucky man. You have the opportunity to turn your life around, otherwise you will spend your life going in and out of prison.”
Ethan Brown, 19, had admitted possessing heroin on two separate occasions with intent to supply.
The city crown court heard how police executing a search warrant at a one-bedroom flat in Shirley, found Brown concealing seven deals on his person.
He was bailed but was arrested in similar circumstances when officers raided another flat in Shirley and discovered Brown with nine wraps.
Prosecutor Tom Wright said: “He was playing a significant role in street dealing, motivated by financial advantage.”
Chris Gager, defending, said: “He got involved in something way out of his control and intelligence. He was led astray by others and realises he has brought shame on his family.”
Judge Linda Sullivan QC gave Brown a two-year suspended sentence with 18 months’ supervision.
