TWO community projects in Hampshire have received much-needed funding from a trust project.
Micheldever Station Community and Recreation Centre has received £100,000 towards works at Warren Hall in Andover Road and Waltham Chase Village Hall has been given £15,000 to convert one of its meeting rooms.
The works at Micheldever include replacing the wooden pavilion with a new brick structure.
A representative of the management team at Micheldever, Felicity Botham, said: “The new meeting room will provide space for a wide range of services and activities including playgroups, sports for all abilities, carpet bowls, after-school clubs, and University of the Third Age. This grant is a real boost for us and we cannot wait to see work start.”
The funding was awarded from The Veolia Environment Trust at a quarterly board meeting. Around 50 grants were handed out worth over £1.4million to fund projects across the UK.
