Residents hope noisy tools will be banned on Sundays

First published in News

RESIDENTS of the Itchen Valley are hoping for an unofficial ban on power tools on Sunday afternoons.

The “lazy Sundays” idea has been mentioned to Penny Flemons, chairman of the parish council, who says people feel strongly about having one quiet afternoon a week.

“It has come up so often over the year that people say it would be nice if you knew that one afternoon a week it wouldn’t be noisy,” she said.

“There’s always someone using an electric power tool somewhere.”

Crikey. What next?
Just when do these people think the lawn can get mown, hedges cut and gardens dug, if you work 6 days a week?
They could always come round to my place and do it during the week for me. Then no problem!
