POLICE are hunting a man they believe could hold vital clues to a burglary which saw thieves flee with a haul worth more than £10,000.
Detectives investigating the burglary in Portchester have released a CCTV image, pictured, of a man they would like to speak to.
Thieves broke into a house in Edwards Grove and ransacked it, stealing an antique cutlery set worth about £10,000, along with a digital camcorder worth £1,000, jewellery, bank cards and boxed aftershave.
A 20-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested and bailed in connection with the incident.
Now officers would like to speak to the man captured on CCTV, who was wearing a white T-shirt with a multi-coloured logo, grey bottoms and white trainers.
A police spokesman said: “We’re also keen to hear from anyone who may have recently been offered either high-value silver cutlery, a silver Longines watch or silver cufflinks in the letters S and B.”
Call police on 101.
