A YOUNG cancer survivor from Hampshire who battled leukaemia for more than three years has been granted his ultimate wish.
Hayden Stanley, 7, travelled to Disneyland Paris, where he met his hero Jack Sparrow, the star of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean films.
The Stanley family, from West End, enjoyed the trip of a lifetime, organised by Round Table Children’s Wish, a charity based in Bournemouth.
Hayden was recommended to the charity by Southampton General Hospital, where he was successfully treated for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Along with mum Fiona, dad Nathaniel and sisters Mia, 12, and Freya, 18 months, Hayden flew to Paris – his first time on a plane.
Hayden’s mum Fiona said: “It was amazing and we’re so grateful to Round Table Children’s Wish for arranging it.
“Hayden was having treatment for three years and three months and now we just go back every few months for a check-up.”
