FIREFIGHTERS were called to the third fire in eight days at a Hampshire prison last night.

It happened at 9.50pm after a Winchester Prison inmate set fire to his waste paper basket.

Ten Winchester Fire Station firefighters attended.

Nobody was injured.

In a similar incident last week three people were taken to hospital after two fires broke out in the early hours of Wednesday morning (July 23).
