DEMONSTRATORS held a vigil outside Southampton Civic Centre last night calling for an end to the conflict in Gaza.
Protesters held placards bearing slogans including “Free Gaza, Free Palestine” in the latest demonstration in the city, following three previous protest marches.
Liz Rolfs, of the Southampton branch of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, said: “We feel frustrated and helpless that this can be happening and our Government is not listening.
“We cannot do anything about it but educate people and make our voices heard.”
Protester Nurul Kamrul said: “I am feeling disgusted with the killing of women and children.”
A spokesman for the South Hampshire Reform Jewish Community, a member of the Movement for Reform Judaism, said: “We are deeply saddened by the loss of life on both sides of this conflict, and while we stand alongside our brothers and sisters in Israel at this frightening time, we view the escalation of the conflict with great sadness and concern.”
