VOLUNTEERS are needed to help keep the streets of Southampton safe at night for vulnerable revellers.

Southampton’s Street Pastors need people to step forward to help make sure partygoers in Millbrook get home safely.

They hope enough people take part for the community to have its own patrol rather than relying on teams from the city centre on Friday and Saturday nights.

Anyone interested in getting involved with the Christian organisation can find out more with a series of information sessions at the organisation’s head office of 153 St Mary Street from the end of this month.

The closing date for applications is Monday, September 1 with training dates starting on September 12.
