A POLICE investigation is underway after a man died in a Hampshire house fire earlier this morning.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue engines and up to 40 fire fighters have been battling the blaze at the bungalow in Waterlooville since 3am but were unable to save the man inside.

Fire-fighters using breathing apparatus investigated the house in Haslar Crescent but found no-one else inside.

The house has been completely destroyed by the fire with its roof completely caved in.
