POLICE are today investigating two fires that broke out this morning in a city neighbourhood.

The first involved a fire in the seat of a digger in a cordoned off area in Fort Road, in Woolston, with crews called out from Hightown Fire Station at 5.40am.

Then St Mary's Fire Station was called to a bin fire round the coroner on Portsmouth Road at about 

An investigation has been launched. It follows a spate of suspect fires in the area in the past fortnight.
