HIS captivating artwork took the world by storm – now a talented Hampshire artist is set to help a global humanitarian campaign.

Former Thornden School pupil Elmo Hood will see one of his striking pieces used to promote the British Red Cross’s Art 4 Life exhibition and auction.

His Collide piece will be auctioned at the event held at the Embassy of Japan along other works including a Picasso etching and a Tracey Emin piece.

All proceeds will help the charity’s continuing efforts in Gaza, Iraq and Syria.

As reported, Elmo rose to prominence when his quirky Queen of Hearts piece went viral on social media and garnered celebrity approval from the likes of Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts and rappers P Diddy and The Game.

He has since held a pop-up exhibition in New York and seen his work exhibited across the world.

Elmo is hosting a new exhibition called One In, One Out, at Walton Fine Arts in Knightsbridge, London, on October 7.

He said: “It was an honour to be asked to donate a piece, especially considering the calibre of the artists already involved.

“I had been growing increasingly frustrated about some of the things going on in Gaza and Iraq at the moment and equally helpless. This gave me a chance to use my art to give some small support to the humanitarian effort.”
