A DRIVER has been arrested after his Aston Martin was involved in a crash that left three cyclists including a teenage girl seriously injured.
Police have today appealed for witnesses after the smash on the A337 Lymington Road near Brockenhurst yesterday.
The dark-coloured Aston Martin was in collision with the three riders close to the Hollybush Garden Centre near the junction with Tilebarn Lane at Setley at 4.50pm.
The cyclists – a 68-year-old man, a 58-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl – sustained serious injuries.
Two were flown to Southampton General Hospital – one with severe leg injuries and the other with serious upper body wounds.
The remaining casualty was taken to the same hospital by road with facial injuries.
The driver was unharmed.
A 28-year-old man from Lymington has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been released on bail until November 25, pending further inquiries.
Police closed the road for several hours while officers investigated the crash scene.
