THE brother accused of murdering his identical twin broke down in court as footage captured moments after the fatal incident was played out in court.

Robert Cerqua broke down in tears as the footage of paramedics working on his Christopher brother in the kitchen of their family home was played out in court.

The graphic footage was captured by a police officer's body worn camera who attended the scene in Langdown Road, Hythe, on New Year's Eve last year.

Robert Cerqua is accused of stabbing Christopher after an argument erupted.

The footage shows initial responder paramedic Benjamin Smeaton giving treatment to Christopher on the kitchen floor at their family home in Langdown Road, Hythe.

In the video, the court saw Mark Ainsworth-Smith, a consultant pre-hospital care practitioner for South Central Ambulance Service, arriving and advising the police officer that it is a "life-threatening" situation.

Paramedics and officers continue to call out Christopher's name to check for responses.

The footage proved too much for Robert, who broke down in tears in the dock.

He was excused from the court room while the footage continued to be played out in front of jurors.

The trial continues.
