Wearing a black and white top, black skirt and long brown hair flowing out of the bottle bank, video footage shows the girl with her head in her hands as she bemoans her misjudged decision.

Fire services from St Mary’s and Redbridge were called at around 3am, and it took one fire truck, one special equipment truck and six fire serviceman to remove her head out of the position.

One friend, who witnessed the drama, said: “We were out drinking and I bet her to do it.

Daily Echo:

“I bet she really regrets it though because I don’t think she thought she was going to get stuck. She is really embarrassed.”

A group of friends and onlookers recorded videos on their camera phones and took a series of photos of the girl, who works as a promotions employee for city bar the Orange Rooms.

Fire crew manager Chris Rashleigh from Redbridge station was one of those called to bring specialist equipment to set her free.

He said: “I think it was student night, I imagine she was looking for more drink.

I think she had been there for a little while by the time we got there.

Daily Echo:

“A firefighter was supporting her while she was stuck. Her feet were touching the ground.

She said it was dark and smelly. She’d obviously been drinking.”

Mr Rashleigh added that her head was sore – from being stuck in the bin.
