THEY’RE a mixture of fluffy-bellied kittens looking for a new home who were found dumped and left to die.

Meet the ‘Mog-nificent Seven’, a purring bunch of eight-week-old siblings who have defeated the odds.

The four males and three females were found by a dog walker barely surviving in harsh weather conditions on the edge of Testwood Lakes.

Their only protection from the severe winds as the tail end of Hurricane Gonzalo hit the south coast was a cardboard box.

But they are now in the safe hands of the Blue Cross charity in West End.

After realising there were seven of them with fighting spirit, volunteers at the rehoming centre decided to name them after the famous western film The Maginificent Seven, altering the names slightly for the girls.

They are now known as Yul Brynner, Stevie McQueen, Charlie Bronson, Roberta Vaughn, Horst Buchholz, Brad Dexter and James Coburn.

The kittens have now been fed, checked over by a vet, received a clean bill of health and lots of TLC, but each kitten is looking for a new home.

Kirsty Smith, from Blue Cross Southampton, said: “These kittens are really lucky to have been found and brought to us after being dumped.

“Who knows what would have happened to them otherwise, especially being so little in these weather conditions.”

A volunteer at the centre said: “They really are a magnificent little bunch, very cheeky and lots of fun, they have been up to a lot of mischief and it’s nice to see such happy kittens bouncing around.

“It will be a shame to see them go but they have done so well considering what condition they were in and they will make a lot of families very happy.”

She added: “They are all so sweet, sleeping as a group and not leaving each other’s sides a truly mog-nificent team.”
