Hampshire and Isle of Wight Trust will be hosting a course on November 16 for anyone interested in learning a new craft using natural materials.

The course will take place at the beautiful Blashford Lakes where you will be taken on a walk around the reserve and taught how to identify suitable natural materials for basket-weaving.

Using willow, ivy and other materials from hedgerows you will learn the basic skills in basket-weaving. You will then construct a basket that you can take home which could make an ideal gift.

The course will be taught by assistant education officer Tracy Standish, who has been leading willow workshops for the last four years as a ranger and private tutor in various locations around Hampshire and Dorset.

Hedgerow basket-making takes place at Blashford Lakes on November 16 from 10am-4pm.

The course costs £40 and booking is advisable. For more information please call 01489 n774406 or email courses@hiwwt.org.uk.
