A WEST End man has been ordered to attend a sex offenders' programme after he admitted exposing himself to women walking alone with their dogs in woodland.

The three women reported the incidents to police after they were targeted on separate occasions in Hatch Grange Park, West End, in December 2014 and January and March this year.

Matthew Donovan, 22, of St Catherine Close, pleaded guilty at Southampton Crown Court at an earlier hearing when Judge Nicholas Rowland told him that he would not receive an immediate prison sentence.

Yesterday he gave Donovan a three-year community order that incorporates the sex offenders' programme and placed him on the sex offenders' register for five years.

“This must have been very frightening for these ladies,” said the judge. “You can benefit from the help of the probation service to address the problems you have.”

Donovan was also ordered to pay £500 costs.
