A SERVICE which helps support families of prisoners in Hampshire has received a major funding boost.
Set up three years ago, the Invisible Wall scheme is aimed at trying to maintain links between inmates at Winchester prison and their families, particularly those with young children. Along with courses to improve parenting skills, the service also runs days where families can be together in an informal environment and inmates can play with their children.
Invisible Wall has now been given a boost with the donation of £9,000 from the Rotary Club of Southampton and Rotary District 1110.
The money will go towards ensuring the service can continue to provide support to families both inside and outside the prison and pay for information leaflets at the visitor centre.
Service lead Kerry Longhorn said: “We are so very grateful for the support from Rotary which will enable us to continue the work we do.”
