YOUNGSTERS had the chance to take charge of Hampshire’s police force for the day as part of an event to get them more involved in the work officers do.
The activities were organised as part of Children’s Commissioner’s Takeover Day 2014, a national event led by the Children’s Commissioner for England which gives young people the chance to shadow jobs, get involved in decision-making and offer their opinions on key issues.
Ten pupils from Hounsdown Secondary School took over the jobs of senior officers and crime prevention staff, contributing to decisions about current youth issues and priorities.
