PUPILS at a Hampshire school fell ill with sickness and diarrhoea after eating raw runner beans on a trip, an investigation has found.
As reported by the Daily Echo, children from Romsey Primary School fell ill after visiting the Broadlands Estate in September.
Dozens of pupils suffered from vomiting and diarrhoea and Public Health England and Test Valley Borough Council launched an investigation into the source.
Public health England has concluded the most likely cause of the illness was eating raw runner beans.
Wessex PHE stressed the vegetable should always be washed and cooked before eating.
Broadlands said it was fully supportive of the investigation carried out by PHE and local authorities.
