FIVE people have been arrested in connection with an unprovoked attack that left a man seriously injured in the road.
The victim, 35, was walking with a friend along St Cross Road in Winchester when they were approached by a gang of four men and a woman.
He was rushed to hospital with severe head and facial injuries following the incident in the early hours of November 14.
Police say five people have been arrested and are being questioned. They are a 22-year-old man, three 21-year-old men and an 18-year-old woman.
