PUNTERS at a Hampshire pub were given a festive surprise to remember.

The Navigator Pub in Swanwick was the scene of a flash mob choir who gave drinkers an early Christmas present by singing Merry Little Christmas.

It was organised by the West End Singers, who had come into the pub in small groups to fit in among the crowd.

Some of the staff were unaware of the flash mob and were still in the middle of glass collecting at the time, while punters stopped their conversations and meals to enjoy the five-minute performance.

The 26 singers were given a huge round of applause and were even told to do an encore by impressed onlookers.
