THERE is a builder’s brew but what about docker’s tea?

These workers from Southampton Docks took time out from their cranes and machinery to prove it isn’t just the ladies who like a cuppa and cake.

They are the latest group to back The Haven in Wessex £1 Million Tea Party which aims to raise the cash needed to open a vital breast cancer support centre currently being built in Titchfield.

So far celebrities including BBC Radio 1 DJ Matt Edmondson, actress Sarah Parish and TV presenter Sally Taylor have thrown their support behind the big party which runs from Monday, February 9 until Monday, February 16 – but anything goes.

Terminal Operator at DP World Lee Harfield, pictured, said: “Breast cancer is a horrible disease that affects both men and women.

“Several of my colleagues have a relative or sibling that has at some point been affected by it.

“My cousin lost his wife aged just 41 only last year. Supporting a tea morning in aid of fundraising for the cause is the least we can do. Aftercare is as important as the treatment itself.”

The grade II listed building currently being renovated will open its doors this autumn to anyone who has ever been diagnosed with breast cancer for free.

They will be able to talk to experts about everything from financial worries to nutrition, receive a tailor-made programme of complementary therapies such as yoga and acupuncture and meet others battling breast cancer in The Haven.

Everyone is urged to take part in the tea party across the county whether it is a large group of people or simply texting a donation while enjoying a quiet cuppa alone and posting a ‘selfie’ online to show your support.

Join in and take a selfie of you enjoying a cuppa and donate £3 to The Haven by texting WSXT15£3 to 70070.
