Planning your wedding one year before your great day is important to keep stress levels down.

To get inspiration bride and groom start by looking through bridal magazines, books and website. Pinterest is a pretty place filled with eclectic wedding inspiration and ideas. Prepare a board with your inspiration, colour and style to show to your florist.

How can she decide on flowers? Should she think about venue, dress, style, colours?

Deciding on the venue, your dress, and the style you want to give to your wedding always comes first. This makes it easier to think about flowers and foliage.

The season plays an important role in your choice - non- seasonal flowers increase the cost and complexity considerably.

The colours chosen should complement the bridal gown, the wedding theme, and the clothing of the rest of the bridal party.

What questions should a bride ask when she meets her florist?

It's crucial to find and book a florist who understands your vision. To make sure you get the best, ask her the essential questions during your first consultation. Is my wedding date available? How many others weddings will you schedule on the same day? Are you familiar with the ceremony and venue reception? Can you work with my budget?

How would you describe your design style? Which flowers would you recommend based on the season, colour palette and budget?

Daily Echo:

Who should have flowers on the day?

The bride, the groom, bridesmaid and parents should have flowers.

Corinne's Top Tip:

Consider reusing floral arrangements, for instance, transport flowers from the church to the reception to save money.
