MOTORISTS are being warned to plan their journeys ahead of nearly two weeks of closures on a Hampshire motorway.

Sections of the M271 both north and southbound at Nursling, Southampton, will be closed overnight from 10pm-6am for ten nights, which started yesterday.

The major roadworks mark the next pivotal stage in the £2.3m jam busting scheme to ease congestion where the motorway meets the M27 at junction three.

The A31 westbound from Picket Post to Ringwood will be closed from 10pm last night to 6am this monring  for road marking renewal.

Diversions will run via the B3078.

Elsewhere the M3 southbound carriageway will be closed overnight between junctions 11 and 12 at Winchester to Chandlers Ford from 10pm and 6am on Friday, February 27, for carriageway resurfacing.
