THE actor behind one of the most famous sci-fi characters of all time has died.
Lenoard Nimoy, aka Star Trek’s iconic Mr Spock, died at his home in Los Angeles earlier today aged 83.
The cause of death is reported to be chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, a form of lung disease.
He played Spock for almost 50 years, from Star Trek’s television debut in 1966 up to 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness, the second film in the reboot series in which Mr Nimoy was the only original cast member to appear.
