A WOMAN escaped a devastating fire at a Hampshire home this morning.
The blaze broke out in a camping villa-style building at around 6am and quickly took hold, destroying the building.
The woman was able to escape via a window and is unharmed but a dog has died in the blaze at Whitemoor Farm Villa in Whitemoor Lane, Totton.
Around 30 firefighters were on the scene for Hampshire Fire and Rescue, battling the blaze for almost two hours.
New Forest station commander Shawn Lawrence said: "There is 100 per cent damage to the building. The woman managed to get out through a window and she did absolutely the right thing.
"She's been checked over by an ambulance and is ok. The fire is out and we are now dampening down the scene to make it safe."
He added crews were expected to leave the scene at around 9am.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
Four appliances and two water carriers attended from Redbridge, Totton, Romsey, Lyndhurst and Fordingbridge.
Appliances from Redbridge have been at the scene since around 6am this morning.
