YOUNGSTERS from Fareham made it onto the podium in the ultimate dancing challenge.

Fareham College students went head to head with youngsters from across the county to scoop third place in the latest Rock Challenge heat.

They performed a dance called Inner Demons and Regrets which follows the story of a couple involved in a plane crash.

But they were beaten to the top prizes by Beaconsfield High School from Buckinghamshire who came first and Horndean Technology College who were given second place.

They were also up against youngsters from Fareham Academy and Wyvern College.

The youngsters had spent months tirelessly rehearsing and creating props and costumes ready to showcase them in front of hundreds of mums, dads, grandparents and siblings at Portsmouth Guildhall.

It is the ninth year since UK Rock Challenge was set up by Hampshire Constabulary with the aim of encouraging children to be creative and lead healthy lifestyles without tobacco, alcohol or drugs.

The winners of each heat will compete again this summer.
