FUNDRAISING by students and staff at Eastleigh College has given a £1,689 boost to Cancer Research UK.

Health & Social Care students presented the cheque to John Munro of Cancer Research UK.

The students are all on a Health & Social Care 1st Diploma course .

The cash was from a variety of fundraising activities at Eastleigh College during the year including a fancy dress day, quiz night, a staff v student football tournament and a prize draw.

Learning Centre Team Leader, Mike Sheedy also ran the Flora London Marathon to raise funds, and a number of staff carried out sponsored slims.

Mr Munro said: "Community support such as this donation is really valuable to Cancer Research UK as every penny is put back into the local community, which is one of the great strengths of the charity."
