A TEENAGE boy has been arrested following a night of vandalism that saw thousands of pounds of damage caused to at least 30 cars.

Detectives investigating the attacks say they believe a small group of youths is responsible for the damage, which saw dozens of vehicles have their windows smashed, aerials broken and wing mirrors damaged.

The group's rampage took place along three Eastleigh streets - Chadwick Road, Coniston Road and Grantham Road.

When residents examined their cars found extensive damage running to what has been estimated as at least £10,000.

Officers subsequently arrested a 17-year-old local youth, who was initially arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage, but later released him on police bail pending further enquiries.

He is now due back at Eastleigh police station on Wednesday, March 28.
