AN ELDERLY woman died at a Winchester care home as a result of a blood clot.
An inquest heard how Patricia Gray, 66, died at St Catherine’s View care home on April 18, from a pulmonary embolism.
The hearing was told Mrs Gray had a history of such blood clots as well as dementia.
She had been subject to a deprivation of liberty safeguard back in September as a result of her cognitive impairment.
Recording a verdict of death due to natural causes, senior coroner for central Hampshire, Grahame Short, said: “In light of the fact that the report and past history of pulmonary emboli, I’m satisfied that Patricia Gray died as a result of pulmonary emboli on April 18 and therefore died as a result of natural causes.”
