ORGANISERS of a 1,000ft waterslide which could hit the streets of Hampshire this summer have revealed it could come to both Southampton and Portsmouth.

It comes after the Daily Echo reported how Slide The City could be heading to Southampton this summer.

The gigantic 300m body waterslide has proved to be a huge hit in the USA where it has gone down a storm on the streets of various American cities.

Now the wacky water craze will tour a number of cities in the UK including London, Manchester, Bristol , Cardiff, Liverpool, Belfast, Edinburgh, Livingston, Dublin.

Organisers say that although they have not decided dates and times or locations – they could bring the event to both cities.

A spokesperson told the Daily Echo: “We want to come where the market can bear us. We wouldn’t be against coming to both (in theory) so long as we were able to find suitable locations in both, work with each council, fit both into our schedule and the crystal ball question have enough demand in each market to support two events.”

However they did say a key factor in any decision is demand.

The spokesperson added: “I’m sure each community considers themselves as autonomous to the other, the real question for our marketing team would be, “where are the 'sliders' at?” and for our Ops team, which council (or both) want us in their community?.”
