When Joshua Middleton was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2012, he decided that, as long as he was able, he wanted to raise money for a charity close to his heart - the MS Society.

Last year he ran the Brutal 10k race, raising almost £2,000 and this year, in what he says was a 'moment of madness', he signed up to climb the largest free standing mountain in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro, in a 12 day trek that will challenge him both physically and mentally.

To help him raise the £4,000 that he has set as his target, Josh and 40 of his friends set off on a fundraising mission to the Isle of Wight at the weekend.

The animals went in two by two, with Josh dressed as Noah leading them on their adventure and their animal antics on the ferry and around the Island raised £550 for the MS Society.

"I may have MS," said Josh. "But I am determined not to let it dictate who or what I am, although I do understand that there are people who are effected much worse than I am at the moment. That's why I am determined to raise as much money as I can for the Society.

"The day went really well, with lots of people asking us what we were doing, and they were all really interested in the climb and my condition. One of my friend's dad even donated £400.

"And we managed to find our way home without losing any animals along the way."
