STYLISH youngsters put the city’s footballers to shame as they arrived at their prom at St Mary’s Stadium in eye-catching and flashy cars of their own.

A group of nine girls from Wildern School went for a vintage vehicle and made a grand entrance at the home of the Saints, while four of their fellow students went for the safety-conscious option of a fire engine.

And some of the boys decided to buck the trend and do their own thing, donning full tuxedos and bow ties but rolling up to the entrance on perilously small push bikes.

Others opted for something in between, going for older cars and carriages.

Glamorous and gorgeous modes of transport were also the order of the day at Noadswood School Prom, fittingly hosted at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu.

Onlookers were wowed by one pupil who turned up in a spotless red Ferrari and nine boys who emerged from a huge white stretch limousine.

But one student shunned four wheels and combined a shiny brown suit with a turquoise and white scooter.
