A CHARITY duck race in Hampshire was cancelled today amid the soakinag wet weather.
Dozens of people were expected to attend the Daily Echo-backed Jock Oram Duck Race at the Bucks Head pub in Meonstoke.
Organisers of the event which now in its 16th year, expected a crowd of 50 people to attend.
The funds raised are in aid of NewstrAid Benevolent Fund which helps individuals in the retailing and distribution section of the newspaper and magazine publishing industry.
Organiser John Stranger, said: “There is little cover for people watching so we had no choice but to cancel the event.”
It is hoped the event can be reorganised for August but organisers say it is unlikely.
