THE Western Docks Consultation Forum will hold an open meeting in Southampton next month.
The forum is an opportunity for residents in western Southampton to meet and discuss what’s going on in and around the city’s docks.
It takes place on September 10 at 7pm at the Holy Trinity Church Hall in Millbrook Road.
The meeting will feature contribution’s from Southampton City Council environmental officer Steve Guppy and public health consultant Debbie Chase.
Among the items that will be discussed will be the city’s poor air quality standards.
The council has recently vowed to tackle the air quality problems in the city.
It is investigating measures from park and ride schemes to “plug-in” facilities for ships so they do not have to keep their engines running.
Another item up for discussion will be the hazardous soil and waste treatment plant that has draft planning approval at a site near to George V dry dock.
The meeting is open to members of the public.
