A WOMAN has died after being hit by a train in Southampton yesterday.
The incident occurred at Bitterne Railway Station at 11.43am and emergency services were called to the scene.
A British Transport Police spokeswoman confirmed that the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and that a file is being prepared for the coroner.
The railway line has since reopened.
