POLICE are investigating after a two-vehicle pile-up caused traffic chaos on a Hampshire motorway.
The M27 eastbound was blocked after a car and a van collided and flipped on the M27 eastbound at about 1.45pm yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the scene and closed off the two inside lanes to handle the incident, which happened next to junction 5 at Eastleigh.
South Central Ambulance Service sent a rapid response vehicle and two ambulance crews to help two casualties, who were both taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.
More than five fire engines were at the scene along with at least two ambulances and two police cars, as well as a group of traffic and highway maintenance workers.
The crash happened around 1.50pm.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101.
#Hampshire We've cleared the accident on the #M27 e/bound, just before J5. All on the H/Shldr now. But queues are still back towards J3.
