IT’S only weeks old but its fluffy feathers and endearing demeanour are already charming crowds in Hampshire.

The Chilean flamingo chick has emerged from its nest at Paultons Park and can be seen hiding beneath its mother’s wing.

A delightful video shows the newborn chick copying its friends and family and standing on one leg.

And readers can suggest names for the beautiful bird after staff determine its gender.

Despite weighing less than 95 grammes, the chick could grow to more than 1.2 metres in height and weight more than three kilograms.

It will soon develop the trademark pink plumage after eating shrimp and flamingo chow and could live for up to half a century.

For your chance to name the chick, share your suggestions with Paultons Park on Facebook or @paultonspark on Twitter.
