ALL THE glitz and glamour of the catwalk graced a Southampton school as students organised an extravagant fashion show.

Students at Oasis Academy Mayfield, in Sholing, strutted their stuff as they showcased the latest trends in evening wear at the show to raise money for their graduation prom next year.

Everything was organised by the year 11 pupils including the lights and effects and Mayflower Bridal in Southampton’s Commercial Road let them uses dresses from their prom department in the show.

The girls wowed the audience in long and short dresses as well as wraps, while the boys looked dapper in suits.

All the money raised through tickets for the event will go towards the teen’s prom in July 2016.

Michele McIlveen, who works in the school’s marketing department, said: “They knew what they were doing and it was a really good atmosphere and very glamorous.“We feel very proud of them for what they have done., you never know sometimes how these things are going to go butThey were very professional.

“They are a fantastic year group and very committed, they are revising for their exams at the same time as doing the rehearsals and showed a huge amount of commitment to both of these things. There are some future stars of the catwalk there.”
