A Southampton school has done its bit for men's health by raising money for 'Movember.'
Male staff at Noadswood School in Dibden Purlieu cultivated their beards over the course of the month, keen to win the coveted 'Mo of the Year' trophy.
And in a generous act of charity they donned netball skirts to play the U16 girls' team.
Teacher Stuart Wilkinson has run the event for six years and said: "We usually raise around £1,000 so we will be aiming for that.
"We've experienced suicide here so it has hit home quite recently for us.
"And as teachers we have an audience for talking about difficult issues. Cancer can affect parts of the body that young boys don't want to talk about.
"They often don't want to discuss emotional difficulties so we try to open that door and say it's ok."
The Movember Foundation is a global charity committed to men living happier, healthier, longer lives.
