A masked robber went on the rampage with an iron bar during a raid on a shop.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man robbed the Welcome Store in Avenue Road, Sandown, on the Isle of Wight.
It happened on Monday at around 10.20pm.
A man described by witnesses as carrying a metal bar went in and demanded cash.
He then used the bar to smash up a display stand and and one of the shop's tills.
He made off with a quantity of cash leaving the shop assistants shocked but unhurt.
The man made off on foot in the direction of the Tap Pub.
Officers have spoken to several witnesses and forensic work is also being carried out.
A CCTV still of the robber has also been released.
Detectives are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information about the crime to contact them.
