PLANS to extend the opening hours of a petrol station in Southampton will go before planning chiefs.
Tesco has applied to extend hours at the station in West End Road from 6.30am to 11.30pm to 6am to midnight.
The site currently contains a Tesco shop and the Esso filling station.
Six objections have been made to the plans, including a 21-signature petition, while three letters of support have been received by the city council.
Those objecting say they fear it could lead to "increased noise disturbance and light pollution to local residents, including movements and activities of staff who currently arrive at 5:30am and therefore will arrive 30 minutes earlier".
They also say the shop has breaching planning conditions over its opening hours and the planting of vegetation around the boundary, but city council officers say there are no outstanding breaches they are aware of.
The city council's planning and rights of way panel has been recommended to approve the plans at its next meeting on Tuesday.
