STUDENTS at a Hampshire college have been offered counselling after a popular teenager was left fighting for her life following a horror motorbike crash.

Georgina Saville who attends Barton Peveril Sixth Form College in Eastleigh remains in a coma after being seriously injured in the collision in Dorset on Saturday.

The 16-year-old is in her first year at the college where she is studying for A-levels in sociology and psychology, a Level 3 BTEC Certificate in law and an AS level in English language.

As reported by the Daily Echo, friends and family are rallying around the teen who also suffered serious injuries to her arms and stomach.

Barton Peveril principal Jonathan Prest said: “The thoughts and prayers of the college community are with Georgina and her family after this terrible accident.

"Like everyone else, we are desperately hoping for good news and some sign of her full recovery.

“Georgina has many friends in the college community who are, of course, very upset by the news of her accident.

“Students are offering support to each other and have access to our counselling facilities and to teachers and tutors.”

Dorset Police have renewed an appeal to find out the circumstances of a horror crash that left Georgina fighting for her life.

All of the four people injured in the crash on the westbound carriageway of the A35 in Dorset are from Southampton.

The collision happened on Saturday at 1.10pm and closed the A35 for several hours.

It is understood Georgina was among a group of bikers who were riding from Southampton to Weymouth for the day.

A 23-year-old man was also airlifted to Southampton General Hospital and two men, aged 21 and 28 were taken to Dorset County Hospital for treatment to serious but not life threatening injuries.

Police Sergeant Joe Pardey, of Dorset Police’s Traffic Unit, said: “I would like to thank those witnesses who have already called us following our earlier appeal.

“I am still keen to hear from anyone who either saw the collision or the manner of riding of any of the motorcycles involved as they travelled along the A31 and on to the A35.

"If you have any information, please call me on 101.”
