CHILDREN wearing homemade crowns and waving the Union Flag celebrated the Queen's 90th birthday.
More than 100 pupils at Beaulieu Village Primary School made the most of the spring sunshine by staging a picnic on the playground, with staff acting as waiters.
They tucked into a mouth-watering section of treats, including sausages and scones, as well as singing the national anthem.
The 90-minute celebration included a visit from Father John, of nearby Beaulieu Abbey Church, who handed out commemorative coins.
Pupils were also presented with a copy of the birthday card the school sent to the Queen.
The fun-filled event was attended by head teacher Katherine Jones and about 20 members of staff, many of whom were wearing posh hats.
A school spokesman said: "The children are now on half term and it was a lovely end to things, made even nicer by the lovely weather."
