CON artists have stolen £20,000 from a 91-year-old man in a distraction burglary.
Police have released an e-fit image of a man wanted in connection with the incident last month.
It took between 2.30pm and 3.30pm on Saturday April 16 at an address in Redwing Court, Southsea.
The 91-year-old victim answered his door to a man who claimed to be from a water company and said the water supply was contaminated.
The victim let the man into the address and accompanied him to the bathroom to test the water. While the victim was distracted, another man entered the property and stole up to £20,000 in cash.
Officers are looking for a man described as white, aged in his 30s, around 5ft 10ins tall and of slim build. He had dark hair and spoke with what could have been an Irish accent.
Anyone who recognises the e-fit or has information is urged to contact DC Nicola Rose at the Eastern Investigations Team at Fratton police station on 101, quoting 44160144333.
Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
