SHE WAS a little girl who dreamed of someday becoming a Disney princess.

But six-year-old Keziah Flux Edmonds’ future has been ripped away from her.

The youngster, described as a ‘little angel,’ was the victim of in a double tragedy at the family home on the Isle of Wight in which her dad also died.

Mum Nikki is said to be “feeling like the walking dead” and devastated by the loss of her only child.

The deaths have shaken the East Cowes community, with neighbours, friends, teachers and residents rushing to the home to pay their respects and lay tribute around the house.

Keziah, who dreamed of becoming Elsa from Frozen, was discovered at her four-bedroomed house on Cromwell Avenue, unconscious but still alive with her dead father Darren Flux-Edmonds, 44 on Wednesday around 10am.

She was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital but doctors were not able to save her and she died later that day.

The pair were found next to two dead ‘terrier-type’ dogs believed to be called Maximus and Arnie, in what police have described as an “isolated” incident.

Keziah’s family are now being offered support from specialist officers as Hampshire Constabulary launch an investigation into the deaths.

It is believed Darren and Nikki had split up just weeks ago after being married for over 10 years as Mr Flux-Edmonds posted messages on his Facebook in April relating to a possible split.

A friend of Nikki’s, who did not wish to be named, said: "Nikki's feeling like the walking dead.”

Flowers, lit candles and cuddly toys - including Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck - were laid outside the family home yesterday.

Last night up to 200 friends and family held candlelight vigil for Keziah outside her home last night.

Family friend, Terry Nutman, 64, said his young grandson went to school with Keziah, who he said was affectionately known as Kezi.

He said: “Darren adored Keziah, she used to always be on his shoulders and he loved her to bits. I used to see him at the school and she used to run up and get on his shoulders, he was a big man too."

Mr Nutman said Keziah was his grandson's 'girlfriend', adding: "She had a little boyfriend at school bless her. It was one of my daughter's young boys.

"It's awful, you read stories like this that make you go cold but then it happens to people you know.

"She was a lovely young girl, really spirited and a proper little princess.”

Yesterday police officers were inside the house investigating and searched Mrs Flux-Edmonds white Hyundai Accent.

Keziah was a year one pupil at Queensgate Primary School in East Cowes, and her teacher Mrs Atwell left a school t-shirt with a message on the back, reading: "Rest in peace my little angel. I will miss you, lots of love. Mrs Attwell xxx"

Police have confirmed they have spoken to everyone they need and moved to reassure residents in the new-build development that there is no wider risk to the community.

A coroner confirmed they had been informed of both Keziah and Darren's deaths.

According to his Facebook page, Darren was 'temporarily unemployed' and had previously studied at the Isle of Wight College.

On April 11, 2016, a picture was posted to Mr Flux-Edmonds’ Facebook profile with the message: 'To my wife. Just to say I love you.'

Ten days later on April 21, he posted a status which read "Perspective / relationships / divorce / couples / friends / best ...".

It was accompanied by a picture of the quote: "At some point, you have to realize that some people can stay in your heart but not in your life."

Another post the same day read: "Sometimes, you have to let go to see if there was anything worth holding onto."

And on April 25, he uploaded the quote: "Lord, my heart hurts right now. I have no idea what I need, but you do. Please help."

John Orchard, 29, whose young son went to school with Keziah and lives on the same street, said the family was 'lovable.'

He told how Keziah loved to wear Disney princess dresses and, in particular, liked dressing up as Elsa from the hit-movie Frozen.

He said: "We're all distraught. I didn't want to but I had to tell my son what happened, it broke his little heart.

"She was such a sweet little girl, she loved Disney, she was absolutely mad about it. She would always wear Disney princess dresses when she was playing.

“She used to sing all the Frozen songs and pretend to be Elsa, it's heartbreaking knowing she'll never be able to do it again.

"I can remember hearing her laughing from her garden, and when it was nice outside she used to play on the trampoline in their garden.

"I hadn't seen Darren in months. They didn't seem like the kind of family to get into any sort of trouble. It's a shock, I'm struggling to get over it.”

Isle of Wight councillor Julia Baker-Smith lay flowers at the family home, she said: "As a parent myself it's absolutely devastating news. My heart sunk when I heard a young girl had died.

"My heart goes out to the family and may they both rest in peace."

A Hampshire Police spokeswoman said officers were called to Cromwell Avenue, across the River Medina from Cowes on the northern, Solent coast side of the island, shortly after 10am.

She said: ''On arrival officers found the body of a 44-year-old man.

''A six-year-old girl was found unconscious and was taken to St Mary's Hospital. She died a short time later.

''The bodies of two dogs were also found within the address.

''At this stage police are treating this as an isolated incident and we would like to reassure the community that there is no wider risk.''

A statement posted on the force website said: "We would like to thank residents for their patience as we deal with this incident. Specialist officers are supporting the family."
