FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a Southampton supermarket after cardboard was set on fire.
One crew from St Mary’s Fire Station was sent to the One Stop on Portswood Road about 2.40am.
Cardboard in the recycling bin outside the shop had been set on fire.
Derek Caplan of DC Upholstery described the scene as “a right mess”.
“It was just confined to the trolley. One Stop fill it with cardboard and leave it out overnight. It was set on fire.
“The fire brigade put it out before any more damage was done. There’s cardboard everywhere.
“They’re asking for trouble leaving cardboard outside overnight.”
